Solvent Purification Systems
Safety First
The SPS - 400 is fast becoming a requirement in all laboratories that are using, and purifying solvents. No longer is there a need to risk injury to your staff, or damage to your lab due to fires caused by typical distillation methods. Utilizing our Stainless Steel Schlenk Vacuum line, and CHEMGLASS Airfree flasks, you are able to safely transfer solvents.
SPS-400 Description
The SPS-400 was designed to purify HPLC grade solvents, removing moisture and oxygen, based upon the work of Grubbs et al. (Organometallics, 1996, 15, 1518-1520). This purification process is the safe alternative to distillation and vacuum transfer of organic solvents without the use of alkali metals, hydride reagents or a heat source.

Application
Purification of ethers, aromatics, alkanes, and halogenated solvents; e.g. THF, Diethyl Ether, Toluene, Pentane, Hexane, and Methylene Chloride.
Below is a chart showing how to remove moisture and oxygen from the most common solvents.
Where we are unable to use copper catalyst to remove oxygen, we provide you with the ability to bubble degas the solvent using the inert gas of your choice.
Please ask us about other solvents not mentioned below.

Accessories
Stainless Steel Solvent Reservoirs:
Five (5) Gallon
Four (4) Gallon
Three (3) Gallon
Two (2) Gallon
Stainless Steel Schlenk Vacuum Line:
Allows the operator to evacuate and refill a flask with desired inert gas / solvent. This has been designed to allow absolutely zero cross contamination of solvents.
Heating Blanket & Temperature Control:
Designed to wrap around column, the heating blanket is used in conjunction with the temperature controller to assure that the columns are properly regenerated.
Fume Hoods, and Cabinets:
Due to some local regulations, the integration of the SPS into Fume Hoods, or having to place the Solvent Reservoirs into Fire Proof Cabinets may be required.
We are able to offer you this fully integrated package.
We will design the system to suit your safety and space requirements
Adaptors:
Made out of Stainless Steel.
24/40 Stoppers
14/20 Stoppers
